By the age of 16, she had already made a remarkable impression with her portrayal of Thị Mầu in the classical Chèo masterpiece Quan Âm Thị Kính. The role brought her widespread recognition and a Special Prize at the Hanoi Young Theatre Talent Competition, establishing her as one of the most promising young performers of her generation.
Thu Huyền is married to singer Tấn Minh, Director of the Thăng Long Song, Dance and Music Theatre. The couple have two sons and have built both distinguished artistic careers and a happy family life.
In 2024, Thu Huyền and Tấn Minh were both honoured with the prestigious title of People’s Artist, one of the highest distinctions awarded by the Vietnamese State to performing artists.
In August 2022, Thu Huyền was entrusted with overseeing the operations of Hanoi Chèo Theatre, succeeding People’s Artist Quốc Anh in this responsibility. Since then, she has continued to strengthen the artistic identity and reputation of Hanoi Chèo through the development of new productions alongside the revival and preservation of important works from the traditional repertoire.
